Michelangelo took fire at once, and again hastened to Carrara to arrange for marble to be sent to his studio in the Via Mozzi, now the Via S. Zenobi; while the building stone was brought from Fiesole.
Then there was another saint, San Zenobi, who worked a very pretty miracle after he was dead. They were carrying his body from the Church of San Giovanni to the Church of Santa Reparata, and in Piazza San Giovanni his bier touched a dead elm-tree that stood there, and the tree instantly sprang into leaf and flower, though it was in the middle of the winter.
For the facade of the Florence Cathedral she made a statue of "Saint Reparata," and finished the "San Zenobi" which her father did not live to complete. She has a wide reputation in Italy for her statues of the "Young Giotto," "St. Peter in Prison," and "San Giuseppe Calasanzio." DURANT, SUSAN D. This English sculptor was educated in Paris, and died there in 1873.
