The nodules or "adventitious joints" were the result of imperfect ossification, or, in other words, of motion before ossification was completed. She had an acetabulum, capsule, and ligamentum teres, but no tibia or fibula; she also had a defective right forearm. The lesions in the bones resulting from actinomycosis and from mycetoma, have been described with these diseases. These include rickets, scurvy-rickets, osteomalacia, ostitis deformans, osteomyelitis fibrosa, fragilitas ossium, and diseases of the nervous system.
