Ein M eigentümlicher Zug ist, daß Syr Pelleas noch einmal, und zwar mit viel mehr Einzelheiten, Gawain die Geschichte erzählt, die ihm vorher schon der Sir Carados erzählt hat.

In M kommt "Pelleas the dolorous knyght" zuerst auf der "launde", d. h. auf der Plaine Aventureuse an; erst als er mit Gawain gesprochen hat, erscheinen die zehn Ritter, mit denen er kämpft. In M hebt Pelleas alle zehn "with one spear" aus dem Sattel und wird von ihnen "under the horse belly" gebunden. Er sagt nämlich: "wel syrs said he wylle ye put the mater in my hand; ye they sayd both.
