I suppose that shocks one's ideas.... It's true.... There are sentimental and traditional deferences and reverences, I know, between father and son; but that's just exactly what prevents the development of an easy friendship. Father-worshipping sons are abnormal and they're no good. No good at all. One's got to be a better man than one's father, or what is the good of successive generations?
