In the literature of every other nation the form of personated authorship, when there is no animus decipiendi, has been recognized as a legitimate channel for the expression of opinions, or the quasi-dramatic representation of character. That such is the character of the book and that it appeared some time during the Persian age are well-ascertained results of scholarship.
