"Upon Muthlabben," a curious transliteration, means "arranged for training the soprano voices." Professor Murray supposes that this particular psalm was used for rehearsal by the women singers. Some of these inscriptions designate the airs to which the psalms were set, part of which seem to be sacred, and part secular.
