See Introduction, p. 105. Cf. A Discussion of Confession, above, p. 82. Luther might have considerably revised this whole paragraph. This seems to refer to the writers of the Holy Scriptures. A reference to the threefold baptism, commonly accepted, viz., fluminia, flaminis, sanguinis; that is, the Sacrament of baptism, the baptism of the Spirit, or repentance, the baptism of blood, or martyrdom.
