The name seems to be preserved in the modern Hartz Forest, which is however far less extensive. Igitur Helvetii==igitur regionem, inter, etc. See note on colunt, 16. Colunt==in-colunt. Both often used intransitively, or rather with an ellipsis of the object,==dwell. Discreti ac diversi. Separate and scattered in different directions, i.e. without regular streets or highways. See Or. in loc. Ut fons placuit. On the permanence of names of places, see note H. 1, 53.
