At Grecio, or Grecchia, a very dissolute town in which he first preached, no one frequented the Sacraments; no one listened to the Word of God, and marriages within the prohibited degrees were of ordinary occurrence. By word and example he urged them to repentance and made such an impression that they entreated him to make some brothers stay among them.
