In fact, some of the representations of him could not be distinguished from the representations of the crucified Jesus. The name of "Krishna" is by Sir William Jones, and by many others written "Crishna," and I have seen it spelt "Cristna." The resemblance it bears, when thus written, to "Christ" is apparent only, there is no etymological similarity.
