Zuela contains some ancient inscriptions, and not long ago two store-rooms were discovered, full of indigo, supposed to have been a portion of the ancient commerce of the interior. Zuela is the principal town of the division of Shargheeah, or The East. To the natural productions of Fezzan, already enumerated, may be added, the Trona , or "Sal Natrone" of Tripoline merchants.
