An active politician, this Bishop assisted in the deposition of King Richard II., and was one of the commissioners to the Pope to announce the accession of Henry IV. *Robert Mascall*, A.D. 1404-1416, was employed as a foreign ambassador by Henry IV., who also made him his confessor.
