Pierre Legrand was another Frenchman who, after committing all kinds of outrages in the West Indies, passed with his robber crew to the Pacific and scoured the coasts as far as California. The atrocities committed by a certain Montbras, of Languedoc, earned him the name of "the Exterminator."
