There is no paradise more wondrous for any soul than to be exposed to God’s Manifestation in His Day, to hear His verses and believe in them, to attain His presence, which is naught but the presence of God, to sail upon the sea of the heavenly kingdom of His good-pleasure, and to partake of the choice fruits of the paradise of His divine Oneness.

Then will each one of God’s beloved shine out as a bright moon with qualities of the spirit, and the relationship of each to the Sacred Threshold of his Lord will be not illusory but sound and real, will be as the very foundation of the building, not some embellishment on its façade.

To be anxious about these necessities is to imitate the heathen who know nothing of God’s providential care. We show ourselves to be his children by our trust in him. Vs. 27-30.

For during that period the Revelation of God shone forth through the appearance of that divine Reality, Who rewarded by His Word everyone who believed in Moses, and punished by His Word everyone who did not believe; inasmuch as God’s Testimony for that Day was that which He had solemnly affirmed in the Gospel.

One left the glorious hope of a Christian shining forth, tinting the sky with beauty; the other’s sun sank into a dark cloud of despair, lighted only with the lurid glare of the lightning of God’s wrath. Reader, what will be your life’s sunset? Will it be serene and calm and peaceful, lighted up with glory from the throne of God, or will it be dark, without a promise or ray of hope?

No critic would think of treating any other book as he treats the Bible, nor of requiring of any other book what he requires of the Bible. The more men hate God, the more they hate his Word; and this has a deep, underlying reason, and that reason, I believe, is that the Bible is God’s book and that in it there is so much of God himself. It Has Withstood All Assaults.

She seemed to think that when she no longer claimed to be saved she could cast off all restraint and ignore God’s claims upon her entirely, and that it did not matter what she did now. Her excuse was, “Oh, I am not saved now.” Just as though that changed in any degree her solemn responsibility to obey God! I was talking with a man who had been a preacher.

The pilgrims all assemble in the great church, and already, long before the wonder is worked, they are wrought by anticipation of God’s sign, as well as by their struggles for room and breathing space, to a most frightful state of excitement. After this, there is a long pause, and then suddenly from out of the small apertures on either side of the sepulchre there issue long, shining flames.

Happy art thou in that the Throne of Justice hath been established upon thee, and the Daystar of God’s loving-kindness and bounty hath shone forth above thy horizon. Well is it with every fair-minded person that hath judged fairly Him Who is the Most Great Remembrance, and woe betide him that hath erred and doubted." O thou who art reputed for thy learning!

And many a time since have I looked out upon the passers-by or listened to their merriment, and have said to myself, “I would not exchange places with you; for I am saved; I have the treasure of God’s love; I have the presence of the Holy Spirit; I have the joys of salvation; I have a mansion in heaven.” I knew that most of the passers-by did not have these things, and so I was blessed more than they.
