It so befell that one day some men-at-arms from Lunigiana passed by their house, and seeing Tedaldo accosted him, saying: "Good-morrow to thee, Faziuolo." To whom Tedaldo, in the presence of his brothers, answered: "You take me for another."
Whereat they were abashed, and asked his pardon, saying: "Sooth to tell, you are liker than we ever knew any man like to another to a comrade of ours, Faziuolo da Pontremoli by name, who came hither a fortnight ago, or perhaps a little more, since when we have not been able to learn what became of him. Most true it is that your dress surprised us, because he, like ourselves, was a soldier."
