With his thread line and bent-pin hook the wee tot set out to make his first cast in "a wee burnie" he had discovered near his home. He caught his fish, too, and for the rest of the day he carried the miserable little specimen about on a plate, exhibiting it triumphantly.
As Bunny pulled his fish line from the water, his sister saw the dangling bent-pin hook, and cried out: "Oh, Bunny, you didn't get a fish after all!" "No," the little fellow answered. "I guess I can fish better from the island, anyhow. We'll fish here now, and if we catch anything we can build a fire and cook it. That is, we could if we had any matches."
Then, nearing the piece of seaweed, I dropped my anchor. In a flash I got that dangerous piece of seaweed off R. C.'s line. "Good work!... Say, but that helps.... We'd never have gotten him," said R. C., beaming. I saw him look then as he used to in our sunfish, bent-pin days. "We've not got him yet," I replied, grimly. "Handle him as easily as you can." Then began a fight.
