The number of students of each of the principal sects the Church of Ireland, the Roman Catholics, and the Presbyterians steadily increases. Members of each religious body are among the professors in each college, and all accounts represent the most perfect harmony and cordiality as existing throughout the whole body.
A service in any one of the representative churches is dignified and impressive. The churches and schools of Liberia have been most largely in the hands of the Methodists and the Episcopalians, though the Baptists, the Presbyterians, and the Lutherans are well represented. The Lutherans have penetrated to a point in the interior beyond that attained by any other denomination.
