So the ascended Man, the resting Saviour and His completed work, the interceding Priest, and the ever-active Helper, are all brought before us in this great and blessed thought, 'Christ sitteth at the right hand of God. Therefore, dear friends, set your affection on things above. Our hearts travel where our dear ones are.

The necessity to brave society, in the character of honest Defendant, caused but a momentary twitch of the nerves. Her heart beat regularly, like a serviceable clock; none of her faculties abandoned her save songfulness, and none belied her, excepting a disposition to tartness almost venomous in the sarcastic shafts she let fly at friends interceding with Mr.

"I have no recollection of the fact, Ralph, boy, and I don't think I should have forgotten so important a matter; but I do recollect saving his, by interceding when he was about to be shot for plundering some helpless people. There; let him and a couple of his men come in. The poor wretch is in a bad state, I suppose, and I will give him something to help him on his road."

"The Prince interceding lately for Edward Coke, his Majesty answered, 'He knew no such man. When the Prince interceded by the name of Mr. Coke, his Majesty still answered, 'He knew none of that name neither; but he knew there was one Captain Coke, the leader of the faction in parliament." In another letter, Coke appears with greater dignity.

He is the purest of created beings; but convey him far away while yet he sleeps, for should he awake, thy endeavors would be vain." "What good will that do me?" said the Capuchin, laughing. "It is you and your favor that I want." The impetuous Cinq-Mars rose, and, seizing Joseph by the arm, eying him with a terrible look, said: "I degraded him in interceding with thee for him."

The women wished to take their children with them, but some of the Romans imagined that there might, perhaps, be danger, that under pretense of interceding for peace, they were really intending to make their escape from Rome altogether.
