This wide vocabulary of key-words which has become the mental property of the child, has planted in the mind the necessary images, which in future years of study, will serve as a sure foundation, for the quick and easy mastery of all branches of useful knowledge. Many a man of the world has gone through life, without acquiring such a vocabulary.

The identity of the words does not matter, because there is no doubt at all about the meanings; because nobody is likely to think of an elephant as four feet long, or of a window as having tusks and a curly trunk. Sinking down into the easy-chair by the flowers in the window he prepared to run it through at his leisure with breathless anxiety.

I'm confident that the key-word is here; I'm equally confident that the letter does not involve, either directly or indirectly, the United States. I understand that the letter is in the cipher of the Blocked-Out Square; in this book there are two pages and more of key-words to this Square, the last dozen or so of which are added in writing.

An understanding of this fact this law or rule of manifestation will throw a great light over many dark places of misunderstanding and perplexity concerning certain phases of occult and psychic phenomena. This feature of such phenomena will be considered in detail in subsequent parts of this book. The Two Key-Words.

'According to the good pleasure of His will, ... According to the riches of His grace. Eph. i. 5, 7. That phrase, 'according to, is one of the key-words of this profound epistle, which occurs over and over again, like a refrain.

Here are three of the key-words of the New Testament 'grace, 'saved, 'faith. Once these terms were strange and new; now they are old and threadbare. Once they were like lava, glowing and cast up from the central depths; but it is a long while since the eruption, and the blocks have got cold, and the corners have been rubbed off them.
