See therefore how perfect is the correspondence between the Sacraments and the method of life where they are the agents, and which they symbolically set forth.
The created world is the concrete manifestation of matter, through which, for its transformation and redemption, spirit is active in a constant process of interpenetration whereby matter itself is being eternally redeemed. What then is matter and what is spirit?
That application of the principle to political relations, the thorough molding and interpenetration of the constitution of society by it, is a process identical with history itself.
