Doyley was confirmed in his command of Jamaica by Charles II., but his commission was not issued till 8th February 1661. He was very desirous, however, of returning to England to look after his private affairs, and on 2nd August another commission was issued to Lord Windsor, appointing him as Doyley's successor.
