Miss Storr was obliged to leave us, and now for over six years a splendid and unselfish English lady, Miss Katie Spalding, has been helping to solve this most important of all problems the preparation of the next generation to make their land and the world a more fit place in which to live.

"When I arrived at the 'Clarendon, I found my wife and her maid surrounded by cases and band-boxes; laces, satins and velvets were displayed on all sides, while an emissary from 'Storr and Mortimer' was arranging a grand review of jewellery on a side table, one half of which would have ruined the Rajah of Mysore, to purchase.

"Wretched idiots! just for the sake of indulging for a few hours in gluttony, you would risk your own lives and the lives of all in the boat. The first man who dares to disobey me, shall follow poor Seton out there only he will have no shroud to cover him. You, Storr, overboard with that keg; Johnston, do you help him."

The old clock that Marmaduke Storr made in London more than a hundred years ago was clicking the steady pulse-beats of its second century.

Through the vision, ability, and devotion of Miss Storr, Miss Spalding, and their helpers, in training the characters as well as the bodies of the children at the Home, and by the generous support of friends of children elsewhere, we have been able to turn out each year from its walls young men and women better fitted to cope with the difficult problems of this environment, and to offer to its service that best of all gifts useful and consecrated personalities.

Storr and Mortimer; the elegant marriage cake, which, already cut up and portioned, is, alas! not destined to be eaten by the friends of Mr.

Frederic Overbeck, the great father of the Christian school of art: Cornelius, to whose magnificent conceptions Munich and Berlin owe their most glorious works, both historical and imaginative as the fresco illustrations of the Nibelungen Lied, in the Royal Palace; the 'Last Judgment, in the Ludwig-Kirche; and the 'History of St Boniface, in the Bonifaz-Kloster Storr, the great Austrian master, whose conception of 'Faust, in the Royal Gallery at Vienna, is in itself a great poem; and the whole Düsseldorf school have conformed to the ancient type.

It is obvious that something had to be built to accommodate the galaxy; and some one secured who understood the problem of running the Home. She how often it is "she" was found in England, a volunteer by the name of Miss Eleanor Storr. She was a true Christian lady and a trained worker as well. The building during the years grew with the family, so that it is really a wonder of odds and patches.
