The governors of Aleppo, Hamah, and Tripoli, together with the governors of Safed and Jerusalem, called upon Nasir to join them, and, with the help of his other followers, to reconquer Egypt.

The spies of Akush, however, were open to corruption, and they failed later to take steps to render Nasir harmless at the right moment.
