It is not every young married man who could afford to pay so large a sum of money as £426 in one lump; on the contrary, very few indeed could do so.

See Galt, Canada from 1849 to 1859, and his memorandum of 25 October, 1859. It is not known what adulterous love is, unless it be known what conjugial love is, n. 424. Adulterous love is opposed to conjugial love, n. 425. Adulterous love is opposed to conjugial love, as the natural man viewed in himself is opposed to the spiritual man, n. 426.

In short, the Plattsburg idea was put into effect, with what results may be judged by the words of high praise which have been said concerning the marine subalterns in France. Since war began the corps has grown from a total of 13,266 enlisted men and 426 officers to a present strength of 38,629 enlisted men and 1,389 officers.

This subject has lately been treated excellently by Mr. Hayes, in the "Boston Journal" volume 4 page 426. The author does not appear aware of a case published by me "Geographical Journal" volume 9 page 528, of a gigantic boulder embedded in an iceberg in the Antarctic Ocean, almost certainly one hundred miles distant from any land, and perhaps much more distant.

At the hamlet of West Stoke is Parsonage Farm, originally a chantry house, where should be noticed the Tudor gateway, the hall, a gabled room surmounted by a bell-cot, and a circular columbarium. The chantry which was served by the priests who resided here, no longer exists. Above the village is Hamdon Hill, an eminence 426 ft. above sea level.

The tank whence the water is taken is 426 feet higher than the top of the shaft, therefore the vertical pressure upon the hydraulic pump at the 3,000 foot level is 3,426 feet. The pressure pipe is of ordinary galvanized iron where it receives the water at the tank, but gradually grows thicker and stronger, and at the 3,000 level it is constructed of cast iron, and is inches in thickness.

The most frequent weight in the 3000 was 7 lbs, numbering 426. It is a remarkable fact, that until the weight of 7 lbs the female infants exceeded the males in number, the latter thenceforward predominating. On the other hand, I have known those who were born large and strong, yet who slept but little, become weak and unhealthy.
